JEWELLERY STORY – MY SUNNY SOMEDAY
A true story. It was a rainy day in Cape Town. Winter. The city, though thankful for the rain, scurried to the warm headiness of coffee bars. We followed suit. Tucked away in one of our favourite spots, Bootlegger, we pored over the day’s photo shoot with Nu Davidson – wedding planner and events coordinator extroardinaire, photographer Claire Thomson and make-up artist Minke du Plessis. And then it happened. A kernel of an idea brewed when we chanced upon a loving couple at the other table. It was the wistful looks, the secret glances, the rain…
Who were they? Where did they come from? The more we looked, the more we wanted to know. Nu knew she had to seize the moment, and waited for an appropriate lull in their conversation. They both looked away from each other through the rainy window, and after a long pause, Nu went over and introduced herself. The sunny couple, surprised, also seemed genuinely pleased to meet a new friend.
Meet Mike and Bianca. An extraordinary, ordinary couple from Cape Town. We had our team ready to shoot, they had some time to spare, and graciously agreed to be photographed wearing Scarab Jewellery pieces. Bianca looked gorgeous wearing the new Silver Round Bar Link Chain necklace, together with some old favourites: A pair of Surfboard Garnet earrings and two Torque Bangles with Smokey Quartz and Citrine cabouchons.
Bianca also wore a trio of the new Silver Secret Scarab gemstone stacking rings – Blue Topaz, Moonstone and Garnet. A rainy day with a sunny couple. To Mike and Bianca we say “thank you” for sharing your sparkle.
